a) Asiana Airlines places the utmost emphasis on the protection of members¡¯ personal information, and abides by the provisions on personal information protection described in the Laws regarding information protection and telecommunications network utilization promotion. Asiana Airlines hereby informs members, by means of this company Personal Information Protection Guideline, of what measures are being taken to protect their personal information, and with what purpose and method their personal information can be utilized. b) Asiana Airlines facilitates members¡¯ viewing of the Personal Information Protection Guideline anytime and anywhere. As an example, the company discloses it on the first screen of its homepage. c) Asiana Airlines has established the procedures necessary for revising its Personal Information Protection Guideline in order to continue to improve the Guideline. In the case of revisions, the company facilitates your awareness of revisions by placing numbers on each revised version of the Guideline. 1. of members¡¯ intension, etc.) b) Method and item of personal information collected by Asiana Airlines - To apply at Asiana Airlines¡¯ homepage to become members, applicants
shall input the required information online. The required information
includes online nickname, password, Korean name, English name, identification
numbers, telephone number, mailing address, and e-mail address. In order
to provide high-quality customized services, Asiana Airlines also requires
members to choose the countries they are interested in, or visit often.
3. Utilization of Personal Information for Other Purposes Which Are Not Described in this Guideline and Offer of the Information to the Third Parties a) Asiana Airlines shall not offer members' personal information to third parties without the members¡¯ prior consent. Modification of Personal Information a) Members can access their personal information and modify it, at any time. They can modify the information by clicking <Member Information Modification> or sending an e-mail requesting the modification to Asiana Airline's Customer Service Center. b) When members request the modification of their personal information, they should not access the information section until the modification is completed by the Customer Service Center. 5. Withdrawal of Consent to Asiana Airlines¡¯ Collection, Utilization and Offer of Personal Information a) Members can withdraw their consent to the articles about Asiana Airlines¡¯ collection, utilization and offer of their personal information at any time. The withdrawal of membership can be made by clicking on <Membership Withdrawal> after accessing the Member Information Modification section of the homepage. It can also be done by contacting the Customer Service Center. b) Asiana Airlines will take all necessary measures to let members follow the proper withdrawal procedure for their membership, and/or withdrawal of permission for the company¡¯s collection of their personal information. 6. Retention and Utilization Period of Personal Information a) Members¡¯ personal information will be removed when the objective of its collection and utilization have changed due to the following: b) When there is a necessity for preserving the above-mentioned information, Asiana Airlines will obtain the member's consent. 7. Technological Solution for the Protection of Personal Information Asiana Airlines has the following technological solutions for protecting members¡¯ personal information from loss, robbery, leakage, falsification or damage: a) Members¡¯ personal information is protected through passwords. In addition, the most important data is protected through a separate security function that encodes the files and transmission data. b) Asiana Airlines operates vaccine programs to prevent any damage caused by computer viruses. The vaccine programs are updated periodically. The company offers the updated vaccine programs in order to timely respond to any sudden attacks by a virus. c) Asiana Airlines has adopted a security system (SSL) that allows for safe transmission of personal information by using encoding algorithms. d) In order to prevent an outward flow of members¡¯ personal information due to hacking, Asiana Airlines operates a firewall system designed to block outside attacks. The company has also installed an outside attack detection system that monitors any possible hacking, around the clock. 8. Consignment of Management of Personal Information To increase service quality, Asiana Airlines consigns the management of members¡¯ personal information to an outside service provider. a) In cases of such consignment, Asiana Airlines will give notice of that fact to each member involved. b) In cases of consignment, Asiana Airlines will make a written contract
with the service provider that carries the following provisions: full
compliance with Asiana Airlines¡¯ instructions regarding the protection
of personal information, preservation of confidentiality of personal information,
prohibition of offer of personal information to third parties and liability
for an accident. 9. Collecting Opinions and Solving Member Complaints Asiana Airlines offers members a window in which they can give their opinions, or raise any complaints, about the protection of personal information. If the members submit their opinions or complaints to the Asiana Airlines¡¯ Customer Center, the Center will solve the problem at once, and notify members of the results. The members can also file their opinions or complaints at the Personal Information Infringement Reporting Center operated by the government (http://www.cyberprivacy.or.kr, Telephone: 82-2-1336, PC Communication: go eprivacy). 10. Manager of Personal Information Asiana Airlines has designated a manager who is responsible for collecting members¡¯ opinions or complaints about the protection of personal information and solving any problem.
